Sorry for the short notice, but for any of you in or near Seoul,
tonight's (Wed) Royal Asiatic Society meeting will feature Peter Bartholomew
giving one of his rare but authoritative slide lectures on Choson Dynasty
architecture, what it shows about the society, aesthetics, religion,
education and philosophy of the times, and how (too) much of it fared under
Japanese rule and since. This topic has become Peter's passion and
particular specialty over the 35 years he has lived in Korea.
Peter's talk begins at 7 p.m. in the auditorium of the Korea National
Tourism Organization headquarters building in Mugyo-dong, a block north of
the Lotte Hotel/Department Store.
