Though journalistic in style, if you get a chance, it's well worth having
a look at Roderique MacFarquhar's old chestnut 'The Post-Confucian Threat
to the West' in the Economist, Febuary 8th, 1980 for an argument against
Max Weber.

Also, I don't recall but did anyone mention Tu Wei-Ming's (1996) ed.
'Confucian Traditions in East Asian Modernity' Cambridge: Harvard?
