Traditionally, British speakers of English have had a
much wider view of the range of both "the Orient" and
"Asia," meaning that the concepts extend to the Indian
Subcontinent and even to the Middle East. The American
understanding of the word is, traditionally, more
restricted to Southeast and East Asia, it would
seem...
