ACADEMIC LEVEL B

Salary Package: $53,640 - $63,287 pa, plus 17% super

Reference: PA2004

The Faculty of Asian Studies and the Research School of Pacific and Asian Studies invite applications for a joint position in Korean Studies, available from March 2004. Teaching and research responsibilities will be divided equally between the Korean Program in the Faculty of Asian Studies and an academic department in the Research School of Pacific and Asian Studies corresponding to the candidate's specialisation. The position is open to scholars in the social sciences, with preference for someone working on Korean politics, international relations, anthropology, gender studies or human geography.

A PhD is required, as is teaching experience in the Korean language. The successful candidate will conduct high-level research, teach courses in Korean language and the area of their specialisation, supervise graduate students, and assist in the promotion of Korean studies at the University.

Appointment: This is a standard on-going appointment, with a probation period of three years. The level of appointment within the level B range will be commensurate with the successful applicant's qualifications and experience.
