New Executive Director for Fulbright Korea

The Board of the Korean-American Educational Commission (Fulbright) is
pleased to announce the selection of Mrs. Shim Jai Ok as its next Executive
Director, beginning August 1, 2004, on the retirement of the current
Executive Director.   Mrs. Shim has been serving as the Deputy Director of
Fulbright since 1990, having previously served with KAEC as Program Officer
and Administrative Officer since 1977.  Mrs. Shim served as Budget and
Finance Officer and as Program Officer with the U.S. Peace Corps Program in
Korea from 1969 to 1977, and before that taught Korean language and culture
to Peace Corps trainees in the United States.  Mrs. Shim received her B.A.
in English Language and Literature and her MBA in Personnel Management from
Yonsei University, Seoul.  She and her husband, a medical doctor, have three
sons.
