REMINDER

FOR ANYONE WHO HAS NOT YET RECEIVED INFORMATION ABOUT THE BIENNIAL MEETING OF
The Association for Korean Studies in Europe IN 2005, PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING
ANNOUNCEMENT.

AKSE 2005 CONFERENCE
4-8 JULY, 2005
Halifax Hall, The University of Sheffield

FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT

The School of East Asian Studies of the University of Sheffield in the United
Kingdom is pleased to be the host to the 2005 Biennial Conference of the
Association for Korean Studies in Europe. Because it is not possible to use the
University's facilities during the academic session, the Conference will be
held this time from Monday 4 July to Friday 8 July, 2005. Otherwise, the
pattern of this conference will be similar to our previous meetings.

The Conference will be held at Halifax Hall of Residence, formerly the residence
of one of Sheffield's steel magnates. It is set in spacious wooded grounds in
proximity to other halls and is located within walking distance of the recently
refurbished Botanical Gardens and the Broomhill section of town with its pubs
and restaurants, and to bus lines to the city centre (10 minutes to the
centre).

All meetings and meals will be planned to take place at Halifax Hall. Aside from
room accommodation, a large dining hall, seminar rooms, meeting rooms and a
library, Halifax Hall also has its own pub. Room accommodation is all single
occupancy of two types - rooms with en-suite shower facilities, and those
without en-suite facilities. The Hall complies with all major disability
legislation.

All conference transactions will be conducted in either Euros or Pounds
Sterling.

If you would like to attend the 2005 Conference, please fill in the form on the
