[KS] International Conference on Korean Historical Materials and the History of Koreans in Europe (Nov. 3-4. 2004 Bonn, Germany)

The Korean Studies Program (www.korea.uni-bonn.de) at the University of Bonn, Germany, is pleased to announce an international conference on (pre)modern Korean historical materials and the history of Koreans in Europe to be held in Bonn. The conference takes place on November 3-4 (Wednesday and Thursday), 2004 at the Gustav-Stresemann-Institute (www.gsi-bonn.de) near the school. This event is co-organized by the University of Bonn and the National Institute of Korean History in Korea. The conference aims to put together international researchers who are working with or interpreting modern Korean historical overseas materials from various angles. The topics of the conference include those contributions which cover the Korean historical overseas materials that are hitherto unpublished or relatively unknown to the general public. The conference focuses on European countries and their diplomatic and political relations with the Korean peninsula, but welcomes the perspectives from other parts of the globe.
