KOREAN STUDIES AT DARTMOUTH COLLEGE

The Asian and Middle Eastern Studies (AMES) Program at Dartmouth College invites applications for a tenure-track, assistant-professor position in Korean Studies.  Teaching responsibilities will be divided between the interdisciplinary AMES Program and another department or program corresponding to the candidate's specialization.  The position is open with respect to field, but it is not a position in language instruction.  Duties will include working with other AMES faculty to strengthen East Asia Studies at Dartmouth.  This appointment will become effective July 1, 2006, with teaching duties beginning in September 2006.  The Ph.D. is required, and teaching experience is desirable.  Salary and benefits are competitive.  Review of applications will begin on October 1, 2005, and will continue until the position is filled.
