Temporary position in East Asian History* (Blanket Search #130661)

The Department of History at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities
invites applications for a temporary part-time position as a Lecturer
for spring semester 2006 to teach the history of East Asia. The position
begins January 12 and ends May 28, 2006. The successful candidate will
be required to teach the second half of the East Asia survey, which
covers China, Korea, Japan, and Vietnam from 1600 to the present, and a
second course in the history of East Asia of his/her design. We have a
strong preference for scholars working in modern Korean history, though
we welcome applications from those working in other relevant regions,
periods, and academic fields.

Applicants must be */at least/* ABD and have demonstrated significant
progress toward completing their dissertations. Applications from those
with PhD in hand are also welcome. Salary based upon qualifications and
experience, consistent with collegiate and University policy.

We will begin reviewing applications on October 15 and will make our
decision by November 30. We cannot consider applications received after
November 30, 2005.
