scholars, we can extend the date of submission of title along with the abstract
to 15th July. It would not in any
way affect the date of receiving the abstracts or sending notification of

It gives us great pleasure to
send you this Call for Papers for the 8th
PACKS, to be held at the
Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU,
http://www.jnu.ac.in/), New Delhi, during
December 15-17, 2006.
1. Official title of Conference: Korea in the
Emerging World Order
2. Dates of the Conference: December 15-17, 2006
3. Venue:
Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi
4. Broad Topics
- Socio-political and economic challenges before Korea;
-
Korea's
philosophical, cultural and religious ethos
- Fine arts, folklores, and
other traditional norms in Korea
- Korea's historical and archaeological
legacy
- Korea's literary and liguistic articulation
Note: While we
prefer papers organised around the Conference theme,
submissions on topics
that address any aspect of Korean studies in the
above-noted disciplines are
welcome.
5. Conference Workshops: Details will be organised by
proposals.
6. Time: All Papers (General/Workshop) are allotted 30
minutes including
discussion.
7. Official Language: Korean, English.
8. Details about Abstract Submission: Abstracts should
be at most one
page long with one-inch margins and typed in at least
11-point font. The
text of the abstract should be suitable for duplication
in the meeting
handbook, single-spaced throughout, with no blank space
between
paragraphs. Leave 1 inch for left, right, top and bottom margins. An
optional second page is allowed for data and references. Submissions are
limited to one individual and one joint abstract per author, or two
joint abstracts per author. The abstract should be submitted as a Word,
PDF or HWP attachment to the email address: jnu.packs at gmail.com
Abstracts
should be submitted only in English. They should not bear the
author's name
but only the title of the paper.
Please use 'PACKS Abstract' as the
Subject header and include the
information in 1 ? 7 below, which should
constitute the body of the
message.

is no registration fee.
-2. Participants will be accommodated free of charge
in the University's
guest houses or in guest houses of other organizations
in the vicinity,
from the 14th till the 18th of December, both nights
inclusive.
-3. Participants will be transported to and fro from their place
of
accommodation to the Conference venue.
-4. Participants will also be
provided all meals for the duration of the
conference.
