Just a quick note in response to Hyung Il Pai's question.  Have you  seen the 
film "Abduction"?  It has recently played at the Cleveland  International 
Film festival.  Although the subject matter is the Japanese  citizens, and 
particularly Yokota, a 13 year old girl, the interview with the  North Korean 
defector, AN, may be of interest in your study.
