The Asian-European Perspective Association, as an incorporated body of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade since 2005, celebrates the 5th anniversary of its foundation this year. Along such a meaningful year, we sincerely hope that you and your familys life are filled with luck and happiness.
With regard to the tendency of globalization, Asia and Europe have been unprecedently linked to each other across the border in terms of political, economic and cultural field. Our Society, the Asia-Europe Perspective Association will provide more significant and diverse activities and learn about each other in order to create and celebrate our shared common value and mutual understanding.
In that context, the AEPA has first launched a prize for business community whose name is "Global Chief Executive Officer of Korean Business Awards." In the first round of awards held in December 8, 2005, Dr. Kim, Jae-Chul, who is the president of the KITA,~, is the first winner of the awards in the field of international trade. And, Yoo, Sang-ok, president of Koreana Cosmetics also received the prize for the international bio division. Accordingly, the next round of the awards in 2006 will be held in April. Kang, Suk-jin, the former president of GE Korea, Oh, Wan-soo, the president of the Korea metal industry Corp. and Lee, Jang-han, the president of Jong-no-dang would be honored to receive the awards. The aim of this award is subjected to serve to promote the relationship between university and business sector in the era of rapidly-changing world.
Under the theme of the conference staying with "The Reshaping of World Economy Order and the Future of Korean Peninsula," the conference is particularly meaningful as domestic scholars share diversified opinions and perspectives with opening speeches provided by Ambassador Dato M. Santananaban of Embassy of Malaysia and Ambassador Wilhelm Donko of Austrian Embassy. Moreover, distinguishable academics from the European Union nations will contribute to promote further discussion and analysis about current agendas ranging from world politics and economics to culture to communication. The AEPA will be working on biannual publications, the Journal of Eurasian Studies and the Review of Eurasian Studies each written in Korean and English.
We sincerely hope that all those academic activities of the society will offer benefits to develop mutual understanding and cooperation each other of Asia and Europe. Thank you for your concern.
