Kress Foundation Department of Art
History

Title:          Assistant Professor
Terms:  Tenure track, 9 months per year beginning August 18, 2007
Salary: Competitive
Reports to:     Chair of Department of Art History
Starting date: August 18, 2007

Duties:
1. Teach four courses per year, including undergraduate and graduate
courses in Korean or Japanese art history, participation in the Asian
art history surveys, and participation in Edwards Campus instruction.

2. Guide research of graduate students and supervise dissertations in
Korean or Japanese art history.
3. Conduct own research program.
4. Provide service to the department and university, including advising
undergraduate and graduate students, committee membership and
participation in university governance.


Required Qualifications:

       1.      PhD with specialization in Korean or Japanese art history
       or closely related field;
       2.      Commitment to teaching in Korean or Japanese art history
       as evidenced by teaching philosophy statement;
       3.      Potential for an active research program in Korean or
       Japanese art history as evidenced by graduate coursework,
       publications, and/or conference presentations in the field.

Preferred Qualifications:
1. College or university teaching experience
2. Record of scholarly publication and professional activity
