In a way, what we see here is a marriage of Korea's monoculture with
Microsoft's monoculture.

yes, but with the amount of money that flows out of an operating system push
for market dominance, it would be almost unfathomable to think that
decisions like these are not made without an apple box to someone in the
government.

the inevitability of system exploitation crippling online transactions is
only mitigated by the fact that cell phones can be used for basic financial
services.  however, this does not explain the fact that the government
merely turned their heads and coughed after the Slammer worm a few years
ago.
