Two faculty positions in the DIS at Hanyang University (Seoul campus)

Position 1: Economics (tenure-track)
Position 2: Humanities, Social Sciences, or Communications (two-year contract, renewable)

The Division of International Studies (DIS) is a relatively new and expanding academic unit at Hanyang University, one of the top universities in Korea. The DIS offers a four-year undergraduate degree with two specific tracks: (1) International Law / Political Science; (2) International Business / Economics. The first two-years of the curriculum also contain a number of courses in the Humanities (e.g. Philosophy, World History, Globalization, and Critical Thinking) and Communications (e.g. Academic Writing, Presentation Skills, and Debate). English is the language of instruction for all courses in the DIS. 

Position 1: 
This position involves teaching a variety of undergraduate courses in the area of Economics. Responsibilities of the position include teaching, advising, curriculum development, and other standard non-teaching duties. Rank (Full-time Lecturer, Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor) is dependent upon qualifications and experience. The annual salary, which is determined by rank, ranges from approximately 50,000 USD to 100,000 USD. Foreign nationals will also be provided with housing. The minimum qualifications are as follows: 1) Ph.D. in Economics or related field; 2) Teaching experience at the undergraduate level; 3) Relevant publications (or evidence of the ability to publish in academic journals); 4) Excellent communication, interpersonal, and cross-cultural skills.

Position 2:
For this position we are seeking someone who can teach a variety of undergraduate courses in the Humanities, Social Sciences, or Communications. Debate experience would be an asset. Responsibilities of the position include teaching, advising, curriculum development, and other standard non-teaching duties. Rank (Full-time Lecturer, Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor) is dependent upon qualifications and experience. The annual salary, which is determined by rank, ranges from approximately 40,000 USD to 80,000 USD. Foreign nationals will also be provided with housing. The minimum qualifications are as follows: 1) M.A. in some relevant area of the Humanities, Social Sciences, or Communications (Ph.D. preferred); 2) Teaching experience at the undergraduate level; 3) Excellent communication, interpersonal, and cross-cultural skills.
