Harvard University. The Department of Anthropology invites applications for a tenure-track appointment at the level of Assistant Professor in the field of Social Anthropology, with a specialization on Korean society and culture. Applications will be considered from scholars whose research is firmly grounded in ethnographic fieldwork, with excellent Korean language abilities.  We are seeking an Anthropologist whose work is on cutting-edge areas of significance to the discipline of social anthropology (including, but not confined to: gender and sexuality, mass media, science and technology studies, economic anthropology, political ecology, religion). Instruction will include courses both at the undergraduate and at the graduate levels (a total of four courses per year). Candidates are expected to demonstrate a promise of excellence both in research and teaching. The appointment will begin in the Fall term of 2010.  Ph.D. must be completed before the appointment date.
