The Early Korea Project (http://www.fas.harvard.edu/~ekp/), which is administered through the Korea Institute at Havarvd University, exists to promote the study of early Korea.  Each year members of the planning committee organize a workshop project to explore an aspect of early Korean history and to make scholarship of leading scholars in Korea and East Asia more accessible to the scholarly community in the West.

"State and Society in the Mature Silla Period"

The Early Korea Project 2009 Workshop will be in two parts this year.  First, the participants from Korea will give presentations in Korean at Center for Korean Studies, University of Hawai'i at Manoa on June 23.  Then, on  August 5, 2009, the same group of scholars will present in English or Korean at Harvard University.
