Dear Readers,

after the end
of the freeze of US-North Korean and South-North relations in 2008 and the
first half of 2009, currently the situation became more flexible. North Korea released its hostages from the US and from the
South (Hyundai Asan), and it expressed in various forms its willingness to
participate again in bilateral and multilateral negotiations. While the
tactical nature of this change has been duly stressed, nevertheless neighbors
of North Korea, in
particular South Korea, but
also Japan and China, have to
adjust their policies. We would like to invite you to a conference in Busan on the
strategic adjustment for Northeast Asian countries on the current
"honeymoon period" (Leon Panetta, CIA) of North Korea and the USA.
