[KS] Symposium in Tokyo

Dear members,

Those in the Tokyo area might be interested in the following symposium
scheduled to commemorate
the 100 year anniversary of Japan's annexation of the Korean peninsula. Out
theme will deal with
topics concerning the aftermath of this period, particularly Koreans
returning after the war. Utsumi Aiko will
discuss the transfer of BC war criminals to Sugamo Prison following the 1952
peace treaty signed by Japan
and its WWII enemies. Yang Yonghi will focus on the movement of Japan-based
Koreans to North Korea
from 1959, and Mark Caprio will consider the decision of Japan-based Koreans
to "return" to Korea or remain in Japan
from 1945.
