[Brother Anthony]

The name of the poet Ko Un seems to be appearing a lot in newspapers this week in the annual buildup to tomorrow's announcement in Stockholm. Anyone who wants to know more about his life and work might find it helpful to read an article about him that has just gone online in Japan Focus  http://japanfocus.org/-Brother_Anthony-of_Taize/3420 although I doubt if it will have any influence on the members of the Swedish Academy, who say they have already made their choice for this year. It will probably be as disconcerting as ever.
