Full-Time Associate Professorship/Full Professorship in Korean Studies.

The University of Sheffield (United Kingdom) wishes to appoint a high calibre
scholar in any area of Korean Studies. The post will be at the level of Senior
Lecturer (Associate Professor) or Reader (Full Professor, junior level).

Summary:
With a history going back to 1963, the School of East Asian Studies (SEAS) is
one of Europe´s leading centres of academic
excellence for the study of contemporary East Asia, with research and teaching
covering China, Japan and Korea. Its main
focus is the business, politics, societies, cultures, economies and history of
modern and contemporary East Asia.

Korean Studies began at Sheffield University more than 30 years ago, and has
developed into one of the leading teaching and
research centres for Korean Studies in Europe.

This is an opportunity for a scholar with an outstanding publication record and
excellent proven teaching ability to join one of
the major centres for East Asian Studies in Europe. 

Applications are invited from candidates with experience in the humanities
or social sciences with a focus on Korea with fluency in both Korean and
English.

You will be responsible for further developing and enhancing the four-year
undergraduate degree programme in Korean
Studies. 

You also will play a key role in delivering the School's research and
teaching agenda by devising, developing and
delivering undergraduate and postgraduate modules in your area of expertise and
enhance the research profile of the School
through the supervision of post-graduate research students (Ph.D. and M.Phil.).

The post-holder will enhance the School's
international research reputation through substantial research activity.
