[KS] distance learning program in Korean Studies or Korean literature

I do not know who was at this small meeting at SNU, but the joke reminds me
of "the frog in the pond". Pre-modern Korean literature has traditionally
been a strong field of studies in Europe and there are still a lot of
specialists in Sankt Petersburg, Prague, Bochum, London etc., also among the
young generation.
As to the initial question, however, I am not sure whether any of these
schools offers a distance learning program in Korean literature.

All the best,
Sonja Haeussler

Indeed, I was at a small meeting at SNU last August where we joked, were the
roof to cave in, the entire field of premdern Korean literature outside of
Korea would be killed off. I think it was Michael who made the joke!

I would refer you to Michael Pettid at SUNY Binghamton as one of the few who
works on pre-modern Korean literature in the US. A second person would be
David McCann at Harvard.
