[KS] Asa Mattice Photos

I've perused these list serv discussions for many years, but this is my
first time posting.  If the below has already been shared before, I
apologize for reposting.

Last night, I had a lengthy discussion with Robert Neff, Brother Anthony and
others after the RASK lecture about early Westerners in late Chosun and the
conversation encouraged me to re-read some materials I had come across while
doing research for a work-related project last year.  One name that caught
my eye within these documents was that of Asa Mattice, a naval engineer and
photographer attached to the *USS Juanita*.  To the best of my knowledge,
I had not seen any of his photographs and so I was particularly surprised
to track down some nice images of China, Japan, Korea and a number of other
places that seem to have surfaced recently.  I hope you enjoy them.  Also
below is a link I found to a *Syracuse University Magazine* article about an
exhibition of the photos and more on how they were acquired.
