Dear Andrzej,

Theresa Hak Kyung Cha's work _Dictee_ compares Yu Kwan-sun and Joan of Arc.
But it is
an avantgarde style creative writing piece with scattered references, so it
is helpful to read Lisa Lowe and Elaine Kim's commentaries in _Writing
Self, Writing Nation_. I can't remember whether the works have an extensive
coverage of Yu Kwan-sun, but much of the discussion surrounding Yu these
days reflect on the use and abuse of historical women as symbols of
nationalism, rather than as religious (or iconoclastic) icons.

Best,
Su-kyoung
