*Korea Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowships (2013--14)*

James Joo-Jin Kim Program in Korean Studiesat the University of 
Pennsylvania<http://www.sas.upenn.edu/koreanstudies/index.html> welcomes 
applications for postdoctoral fellowshipat UPenn,funded by the Korea 
Foundation's Postdoctoral Fellowship Program. Applicants will apply 
simultaneously to the Korea Foundation and Penn. Selection by the 
universitydoes not guarantee selection by the Korea Foundation, but 
Pennwill advise the Korea Foundation of its selected candidate(s). 
Scholars must have received their Ph.D. on a subjectrelated to Korea(in 
the humanities or social sciences) within 5years of January 31, 
2013andcannot currently hold a regular faculty position.*Confirmation of 
doctoral degree conferral will be required by July 1, 2013, and no 
exception will be allowed. *South Korean nationals are eligible to apply 
only if they have permanent residency status in another country.


Disbursement of the postdoctoral stipend for a 12-month period (July 1, 
2013--June 30, 2014) will be determined in accordance with 
Pennregulations. This fellowship cannot be combined with other 
fellowships and grants. During the term of appointment, the fellow will 
be expected to participate actively in the Kim Program, including giving 
a talk. Teaching a course is negotiable, subject to the fellow's 
expertise and student demand at Penn.
