I was rather surprised to find Mr. Jang Jin-Sung's, 장진성,(He uses alias to
protect his family in North Korea) Op-Ed article not a poem in the paper.
In the article he describe three different images of the North, specially
one perceived much differently on the outside of North Korea.
He also reveals the North's three diplomatic principals each tailored to
South Korea, Japan, as well as to the U.S. All three principals designed
to "deceive our people and the world, doing what was necessary to keep our
leader in power."
Finally, he argues the economic reform taking place now within North Korea,
albeit underground, will empower people of North Korea and the empowerment
will lead to "a stable transition to new era after the regime eventually
goes."
