I am posting the following message on behalf of Victoria Chu as it may be helpful for those who will be in San Diego for this year's annual meeting of the Association for Asian Studies.

The Society of American Archivists (SAA) held its conference in San Diego last year (2012). Accompanying the conference was a blog with useful information about San Diego.

The SAA conference hotel was the Hilton San Diego Bayfront situated at the southeast corner of the Convention Center. The Manchester Grand Hyatt, where the AAS is being held, is situated at the northwest corner of the Convention Center.

There is much useful information in this blog -- especially its dining guide -- which I would now like to share with you.

Furthermore, for dining and restaurants, may I suggest the Downtown and Gaslamp Quarter areas, as they are within walking distance of the conference site.
