Dear Colleagues,

It is a great pleasure to let you know that *Korean Linguistics* (Vol. 15,
No. 1) has been published by John Benjamins Publishing Company, on schedule
(June 2013). This is a historic issue for Korean Linguistics. **

** **

Effective immediately, *Korean Linguistics* (KL) has a worldwide
distribution as it is published by this prestigious publisher of
theoretical linguistics. This first issue is worth celebrating because it
is a rare honor not only for the field of Korean linguistics but also
for Korean studies in general.****

In order for us to maintain this new world recognition and for our own
pride, I am sending another plea to make special efforts to showcase not
only the academic maturity our field has achieved but also our intellectual
and financial power so that we may truly deserve and sustain the
hard-earned respect and trust from this important company that
is publishing books and journals of the highest academic quality.

I thank those of you who have already personally subscribed to the journal
AND/OR asked your library to subscribe to *Korean Linguistics*. If you were
considering to but have not yet done so, please do so as soon as possible.
Libraries rarely will pick up new journals in these belt-tightening days,
but many will do so if their faculty members request it. ****

The John Benjamins Publishing Company website (
http://www.benjamins.com/#home) provides subscription information and
guidelines for manuscript submission, and other information including how
to get back issues electronically. *Korean Linguistics* is introduced as a
new Journal for 2013 on the front page! Kindly contact your library and
forward to them the information and form necessary for subscription (
http://www.benjamins.com/#catalog/journals/kl/subscription).****

Thank you very much for your continued collegial cooperation and
encouragement!****

Sincerely,

Young-Key Kim-Renaud, Ph.D.****
