The wider Korean community might find this rather bleak announcement of
interest.

Lord Patten (Conservative)

To ask Her Majesty's Government, further to the Written Answer by Lord
Taylor of Holbeach on 25 April (WA 459), what help is given for resettlement
purposes to North Koreans granted asylum in the United Kingdom.

Lord Taylor of Holbeach (Whip, House of Lords; Conservative)

The Home Office does not have any specific policies to promote the
integration of refugees, and no longer funds any standalone refugee
integration activity. However, all individuals granted refugee status have
full entitlement to access public funds and services.

In partnership with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees
(UNHCR), the Home Office operates the Gateway resettlement programme
providing some of the most vulnerable refugees in the world with a new life
in the UK. There are no plans to resettle North Koreans.
