Robert Fouser’s major area is Korean language education and today he will take us back to the first westerners to learn Korean and explore how they did it, with no language schools and no textbooks.

Darcy Paquet knows a great deal about Korean cinema and his lecture will examine the factors that have led to Korean cinema’s rapid commercial expansion, and evaluate its successes and failures in navigating the boom period.

RAS members are welcome to join these (free) visits, and are asked to sign up in advance if possible. Otherwise, just come!

RAS Reading Club

To learn about Korea and develop cultural literacy through reading works of Korean literature (in English translation). Meetings are usually held on the first Monday of each month in the Jongro District Office.
