[KS] Was he Korean? Ludwig Kim (Université de Strasbourg)

Dear All:

Anyone might have an idea if the author of this 1917 dissertation in 
medicine (see link below), Ludwig Kim, at the Université de 
Strasbourg--at that particular time it was the 
Kaiser-Wilhelm-Universität--was a Korean?

"Ludwig" sounds much like a name the Benedictine missionaries like to 
use: for example, before the Korean War the Vicar General of the 
(Benedictine) Diocese of P'yŏngyang was a Father Ludwig Kim. Strasbourg 
could mean that Father Joseph Wilhelm (I mentioned him here a week ago) 
could have sent him. 

That would be the first Korean getting a PhD in Europe, *if* indeed he 
was Korean.
