[KS] Teachers¹ Workshop: A Day for Sijo & Korean Culture

Please find attached and below a poster for a Teachers’ Workshop: A Day for Sijo & Korean Culture at Harvard University on May 3, 2014. This workshop* is targeted for middle school and high school teachers to introduce East Asian/Sijo (Korean form) poetry and to provide resources that will help teachers bring East Asian Poetry and Culture into their classrooms. The workshop will include a segment on "Writing Asian Poetry," a presentation on Korean art and culture, as well as hands on writing and experiential learning.

There are no fees or costs! All workshop materials are provided along with access to electronic resources. Lunch and coffee breaks are provided, and parking will be reimbursed. Participants will have long-term access to on-line materials and teaching resources, as well as video footage of the workshop lectures and presentations to refer to.

The workshop is Saturday, May 3, 9am to 5:30pm. Teachers may attend, even if only for part of the day. Registration is at <http://www.fas.harvard.edu/~korea2/register.html>. Although we cannot give professional development points, certificates of completion will be given to teachers who attend the full-day workshop, and the certificate can be used toward recertification.
