Colleagues,

With the important report from the UN COI into North Korean human rights released this week, I thought I should draw attention (please excuse the self-promotion) to my recent publication, which deals with the politicisation of this issue (and related issues) inside South Korea.

Published by Columbia University Press and authored by myself (Danielle Chubb): "Contentious activism and inter-Korean relations". More information at: http://cup.columbia.edu/book/978-0-231-16136-7/contentious-activism-and-interkorean-relations

"In South Korea, the contentious debate over relations with the North transcends traditional considerations of physical and economic security, and political activists play a critical role in shaping the discussion of these issues as they pursue the separate yet connected agendas of democracy, human rights, and unification"

Many thanks to Korean Studies colleagues - particularly those who regularly take part in discussions on this list - from whom I continue to learn much.

Best wishes,

Danielle Chubb
