I just noticed something. Each of the informants I mentioned earlier, including Syngman Rhee, began with an "N" followed by a number. Why an "N"? It might be because they were so-called "native informants," Japanese who were currently in the United States, Japanese-Americans, or non-Japanese who had lived in Japan.
