Job Announcement: Ph.D. Candidate or Doktorand in Korean Studies



The Department of Chinese and Korean Studies at Tuebingen University
invites applications for Ph.D. or Doktorand position, with special emphasis
on Modern Korean History, Society, and Culture. The successful candidate
will contribute to the research and teaching at the Department (one course
per semester).



Requirements are an above-average MA in Korean Studies or in neighboring
disciplines with focus on Korea, and fluency in English, Korean, and German
is desired. The successful candidate is expected to contribute actively to
raising the Department’s profile in the study of Korean history, society
and culture within the East Asian context.

Your application should be composed in English or German and include a
cover letter, CV, grade transcripts, and one publication or writing sample.

J-Prof. You Jae Lee, and submit it to Koreanistik at uni-tuebingen.de.



The application deadline is June 30, 2014 and finalists may be interviewed
in July. Appointment will start in October 1st, 2014 and will initially be
for two years. The position can be extended after successful evaluation for
one year. Salary will be according to the German salary scale TV-L E13 50%.
