The photo attached to your email was published in Isabella Bird Bishop's "Korea and Her Neighbours," published circa 1898. It is toward the back of the book. The illustrations in the book are far superior to the one you found on the Internet, which is several generations removed. Check her book for more information about the topic. Subject: [KS] Photos of Russian military instructors in Imperial Korea
Dear colleagues,
I am looking for some pictures of Russian military instructors in
Imperial Korea before the Russo-Japanese War, and all I am finding so
far on the web (after an admittedly quick search) is the attached photo.
Does anyone have any information on this photo (i.e. authenticity, date,
place, circumstances)?
Thank you in advance,
Gene
