The University of Western Australia is looking to appoint a Lecturer in Korean Studies (Level B).
This is a 3 year appointment, with a salary range of $90,468 - $107,431 p.a. plus 17% superannuation

The School of Social Sciences, where this position will be based, offers a rich learning and research environment spanning social and cultural studies in Australia, Europe and Asia. The School supports undergraduate, postgraduate and research programs in the Disciplines of Anthropology and Sociology, Archaeology, Asian Studies and Languages, Media and Communication, Linguistics, and Political Science and International Relations.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic school and world class university working in the fast-growing area of Korean Studies in the Discipline of Asian Studies.  The position includes undertaking unit coordination duties, collaborating in team teaching of existing Korean language units and other units within the School of Social Sciences. We are also looking to appoint a person who can strengthen the School's and the Discipline's existing research portfolio, and therefore a strong existing or promising research record will be an advantage.
To be successful in this position you will possess a PhD in Korean Studies or in any Social Sciences or Humanities discipline related to the study of Korea. You will have a dynamic research and teaching profile, a strong track record in Korean Studies and teaching experience at tertiary level.  A native or near native fluency in Korean and competency in both spoken and written English is required and experience in teaching at university level is essential.
Benefits include 17% superannuation, generous leave provisions and airfares to Perth (if applicable) for appointee and dependents along with a removal allowance. These and other benefits will be specified in the offer of employment.
