Ko Un's Maninbo project comprises 4001 poems in 30 volumes. The sheer scope of the history covered is amazing, as well as the number of people from past and present evoked.

Having published a selection from volumes 1 - 10 back in 2005 as "Ten Thousand Lives" I am happy to announce that Bloodaxe (UK) have just published our translations of some 200 poems from volumes 11 - 20, about half of them evoking the Korean War. The title is Ko Un, Maninbo: Peace & War. The print edition is now available in the UK, it will take some months to reach North America, where ebook versions are now available.

Given the significance of Ko Un, and the sheer volume of his work, I hope that this will be a useful resource for those teaching Korean culture and history, as well as ordinary poetry-lovers.
