2015 Call for Proposals for Korean Studies Promotion Program 

 

We, Korean Studies Promotion Service in the Academy of Korean Studies,
hereby announce the 2015 new project application support plan for four
Korean Studies Promotion Program, 1) Laboratory Program for Korean Studies,
2) Core University Program for Korean Studies, 3) Seed Program for Korean
Studies, and 4) English Translation of 100 Korean Classics.

1. Program Objectives

- Enhancement of competitiveness of Korean studies through support and
management of relevant research

- Developing high-quality human resources through provision of support for
foreign hubs for Korean studies engaged in Korean studies and relevant
scholars

- Contribution to the enhancement of national brand value through spread of
research results of    Korean studies

 

2. Support Details of Each Program 

2.1. Laboratory Program for Korean Studies 

- Budget for New Projects: 1,562,000,000 KRW

- No. of Projects to be selected: 5 projects

- Budget per Project: 300,000,000 KRW

- Support Period: 5 years (3+2)

- Target of Support: Research team (Distinguished scholars in Korean Studies
as well as in other academic areas)

- Application Period: 10:00 AM on June 1, 2015 (Mon.) ~ 5:00 PM on June 5,
2015 (Fri.)

 

2.2. Core University Program for Korean Studies

- Budget for New Projects: 1,224,000,000 KRW

- No. of Projects to be selected: 6 projects

- Budget per Project: 200,000,000 KRW

- Support Period: 5 years (3+2)

- Target of Support: Overseas core university for Korean studies (graduate
degree programs, more than 2 full-time Korean Studies staff required)

- Application Period: 10:00 AM on June 8, 2015 (Mon.) ~ 5:00 PM on June 12,
2015 (Fri.)

 

2.3. Seed Program for Korean Studies 

- Budget for New Projects: 857,000,000 KRW

- No. of Projects to be selected: 12 projects

- Budget per Project: 50,000,000~100,000,000 KRW

- Support Period: 3 years 

- Target of Support: Professors and researchers at local universities or
research institutes 

- Application Period: 10:00 AM on April 21, 2015 (Tue.) ~ 5:00 PM on April
27, 2015 (Mon.)

 

2.4. English Translation of 100 Korean Classics 

- Budget for New Projects: 614,000,000 KRW

- No. of Projects to be selected: 3~11 projects

- Budget per Project: 25,000,000~100,000,000 KRW

- Support Period: 3 years 

- Target of Support: A research team, research institute, individual
scholars in Korea or abroad

- Application Period: 10:00 AM on April 3, 2015 (Mon.) ~ 5:00 PM on April 9,
2015 (Thu.)
