With the generous funding from the Academy of Korean Studies for the Core
University Program for Korean Studies, the Department of Chinese and Korean
Studies of the Institute of Asian and Oriental Studies (AOI) at Eberhard
Karls University Tübingen invites applications for the following position:

*Postdoctoral Fellow in T**übingen Global Korea Project *

*(Salary according to German TV-L 13, 100%)*

The contract period for this position is due to commence on January 1,
2017, and ends on December 31, 2019 (3 years).

Requirements for appointment are a Ph.D.-degree in Korean Studies or a
related discipline, as well as proficiency in spoken and written Korean and
in German or English. The Ph.D. must be completed by the time of
appointment.

The fellow is expected to participate and contribute to research projects
and programs in the Tübingen Global Korea Project, especially in the fields
of Global Cold War of Korea, Korea’s Colonialism in the Global Perspective,
and/or Korea’s Global Migrations. The Korean Studies Program is especially
interested in candidates whose research can complement and strengthen the
existing approach of situating the study of Korean history, society, and
culture into transnational and global contexts. The fellow is expected to
teach two courses per semester (4 hours per week) and to contribute to
administrative work, including assistance in the administration of the
Tübingen Global Korea Project.
