Greetings,

My apologies for bothering the group with this question but how prevalent
was the use of Japanese paper money in Korea in the early 1880s? Was it
primarily used between the Japanese merchants? Was it used in loans to the
Korean government by the Japanese? A Korean Customs' Report for 1883 lists
2,420 dollars worth of Japanese paper currency exported out of Chemulpo.

An image of Japanese paper currency from the net.

Thanking you in advance for any assistance

Robert Neff
