Update and Correction:

After further looking into this, I see that the input method for Hanja
works fine in most of Apple's own programs (Safari, iWork '15) and some
others, just not in MS Word, Outlook, and many others. Sorry to have
overlooked this ... happened to first try out all those where it did
not work.

Here is a list of some common programs, marked with "YES" and "NO":

MS Word - 2011 and 2016 (with latest updates) - NO
BBEdit - NO
Libre Office - NO
TextEdit - YES
Pages (iWork '15) - YES
Bean (2013 version) - YES
Nisus Writer Pro 2.1.x - YES

Notes - YES

EndNote X7.7 - YES
Bookends 12.5.x - YES

Filemaker Pro 12.x - NO
Adobe InDesign (CC 2015) - NO

Google Chrome - NO
Firefox - YES
Safari - YES
Chromium - YES

Adobe Dreamweaver (CC 2015) - NO

Outlook (MS Office 2016, latest) - ONLY in subject line, not in email
text
OperaMail - NO
GyazMail - YES

PowerPoint (MS Office 2016, latest) - YES
Keynote (iWork '15) - YES

Excel (MS Office 2016, latest) - YES
Numbers (iWork '15) - YES

Adobe Acrobat XI Pro - NO

iTunes - YES

Spotlight - YES
Tembo - YES
HoudahSpot Search - YES

Xojo (2016/r2) - NO

So there is still hope then, that it gets fixed some time later in MS
Word and others.

Frank
