With the generous funding from the Academy of Korean Studies for the Core
University Program for Korean Studies, the Department of Chinese and Korean
Studies of the Institute of Asian and Oriental Studies (AOI) at Eberhard
Karls University Tübingen, Germany invites applications for the following
position:

*Visiting Assistant Professor of T**übingen Global Korea Project *

*(Salary according to German TV-L 13, 100%)*

The contract period for this position is due to commence on March 1, 2018
and ends on February 28, 2021. (3 years).

Requirements for appointment are a Ph.D.-degree in Korean Studies or a
related discipline, as well as proficiency in spoken and written Korean and
in German or English. The Ph.D. must be completed by the time of
appointment.

The primary responsibilities of this position are to teach two courses per
semester (4 hours per week) and to contribute to administrative work,
especially in the facilitation of the Tübingen Global Korea Project.

The Visiting Assistant Professor is also expected to participate in
research projects and programs in the Tübingen Global Korea Project. Korean
Studies Program is especially interested in candidates whose research can
complement and strengthen the fields of Global Cold War of Korea, Korea’s
Colonialism in the Global Perspective, and/or Korea’s Global Migrations.
