[KS] Reminder: Moon Family Postdoctoral Fellowship (2018—2019)

Dear all,

The James Joo-Jin Kim Program at the University of Pennsylvania is now
accepting applications for the Moon Family Postdoctoral Fellowship in
Korean Studies for the 2018–19 academic year. The postdoctoral program is
open to scholars who work in the humanities (including cinema studies,
history, and literature), with research focused on modern Korea (since
1864).

The fellowship will cover up to a 12-month period between August 1, 2018
and July 31, 2019 and provide a stipend of $50,000. The Kim Program will
cover the cost of health insurance (including medical, dental, vision, and
life; more information can be found here: http://www.sas.upenn.
edu/deans-office/postdocs/postdocstaff.htm). The postdoctoral fellow will
also receive an office space and access to libraries and other resources at
Penn.
The fellow will be required to:

1.    remain in residence;

2.    teach one (1) graduate-level gateway seminar (Korean History and
Civilization) course in the spring semester of 2019;

3.    give a public presentation for Korean Studies Colloquium;

4.    mentor Kim Program undergraduate fellows; and

5.    participate in Kim Program events and related activities at Penn.
