Subject: Advert for Asst Professor - Korea Emphasis

Hi,

We would like to place an advert with your organization for an assistant professor. Please see ad below:

Assistant Professor focused on Korean politics and public policy

The Department of Political Science and the Truman School of Public Affairs at the University of Missouri invite applications for a tenure track assistant professor position focused on Korean politics and public policy (Job Opening ID 27940), to begin in the Fall Semester of 2019. Competitive applicants will have a clear research agenda, strong theoretical orientation, excellent methodological skills, ability to publish in highly ranked journals and academic presses, and potential for effective teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Additional expectations include active engagement with the University of Missouri Institute for Korean Studies and facilitation of connections between the University of Missouri and Korea. Applicants from all subfields of political science, public policy and public management whose research has an emphasis on Korea are encouraged to apply. An earned doctorate in political science, public policy, public affairs or a related field is required at the time of appointment. Candidates should submit their curriculum vitae, a cover letter, writing samples, and three current letters of recommendation. The cover letter should address the following: current and future research, teaching interests in both political science and public affairs, and how the applicant envisions engaging in Korean Studies and with universities in Korea. We will begin reviewing applications on October 15. Women, minorities, and individuals with disabilities are encouraged to apply. The University of Missouri is fully committed to achieving the goal of a diverse and inclusive academic community of faculty, staff, and students. We seek individuals who are committed to this goal and our core campus values of respect, responsibility, discovery, and excellence.
