Liz has beenworking as the Executive Director of the Australia-Korea Business Council(AKBC) for 3 and a half years. The AKBC is the peak industry body focused onpromoting two-way trade and investment between Australia and the Republic ofKorea.  The AKBC is a member-based organisation that provides its memberswith a forum for the exchange of the latest information on economic, financialand commercial developments in Korea and Australia. Liz first commencedstudying Korean language at school and completed Korean as a second language inVCE. She then continued with her language study at University, completing aDiploma in languages (Korean). Liz has spent approximately two and a half yearsworking and studying in Korea. She worked at POSCO (Australia’s single largestexport customer) in investor relations, and has also studied at some of Korea’stop Universities including Seoul National University (as part of a HamerScholarship) and Yonsei University.

 

 

During her talk, Lizwill share her journey and provide advice around job opportunities related toAustralia-Korea business including:

 

-increasing trade relations betweenAustralia-South Korea

-the kind of skills employees are looking for

-what kind of jobs Korean Studies/languagestudents can apply for and prospects

-how Korean Studies/language students can usetheir knowledge and Korean skills to their advantage.
