8th Biennial Workshop of the European Association for Korean Language Education

Dates: 9-10 April, 2020
Venue: Aix-Marseille University, 29, Avenue Robert Schuman, 13621 Aix-en-Provence FRANCE.

The European Association for Korean Language Education (EAKLE) invites abstract proposals from scholars, practitioners, lecturers, postgraduate students and early career researchers for the 8th Biennial Workshop EAKLE workshop (EAKLE2020), to be held at Aix-Marseille University, Aix-en-Provence, France.

The workshop will feature presentations and discussions on various topics related to the teaching of Korean as a second language at the tertiary level. Presentation topics will include teaching of grammar, language and culture teaching, identity, learner’s individual differences, curriculum design, technology in the classroom, language testing, innovative language practices, language acquisition, challenges in teaching Korean in European universities, translation and  also any other topic concerning Korean as a foreign language education.

Presentation proposals can be submitted in either Korean or English, and should be about 200 words in length (or Korean equivalent). All proposals will be evaluated through peer review process before acceptance. All presentations will be limited to 20 minutes + 10 minutes for discussion. The 2020 workshop will feature two separate sessions, one devoted to research presentations and another focused on innovative and best teaching practice presentations.

To apply for the EAKLE 2020 workshop please fill in the attached application form (also available on cafe.naver.com/eakle) and submit it along with your abstract to the conference organiser, Ms Hye-Gyeong Kim-De Crescenzo (courtils2003 at gmail.com). Accommodation will be offered to all participant presenters and, depending to funding availability, to non-presenting participants in the order of graduate students, part-time lecturers, full time lecturers, and professors. Successful applicants who cancel their participation after the notification of acceptance will be asked to refund the hotel reservation fees and will be restricted from applying to the 2022 workshop.

One travel grant is available for one presenting graduate student (Master or PhD level) from a European university. The travel grant will be awarded to the best graduate student’s paper and will be announced after February 29.

Participation and abstract submission deadline: December 31, 2019.
Notification of acceptance: January 15, 2020.
Submission of workshop papers: February 29, 2020.
Workshop dates: April 9-10, 2020.
Accommodation provided for 3 nights: check-in April 8, check-out April 11.


제8회 유럽 한국어교육자 협회 워크숍

유럽 한국어교육자 협회(EAKLE)가 2020년 4월 9-10일 이틀간 프랑스 Aix-Marseille 대학교에서 제8차 워크숍을 개최합니다. 이에 제8차 워크숍에서 논문 발표를 희망하시는 한국어교육 전문가, 교수, 강사, 대학원생 및 연구원 분들께서는 아래의 내용을 참고하시어 발표 신청을 해 주시기 바랍니다.

이번 워크숍은 대학교에서의 한국어 문법 교육, 문화 교육, 학습자의 심리 및 정체성, 교수요목 개발, 한국어 교육과 신기술, 한국어 평가 및 제2 언어 습득 등과 같은 다양한 한국어 교육 관련 주제를 다루고자 합니다.

발표를 희망하시는 선생님들께서 한국어 또는 영문으로 (200 단어 이내) 발표 초록을 제출하시기 바랍니다. 제출된 모든 초록은 심사 과정을 거쳐 평가됩니다. 모든 발표는 20분(발표) + 10분 (질의응답)으로 구성될 예정입니다. 2020년 워크숍 프로그램은 “연구 발표” 및 “수업의 실제” 분과로 나누어집니다.

발표를 희망하시는 선생님들께서는 첨부된 신청서(cafe.naver.com/eakle 에서 다운로드 가능)를 작성하여 마감 일까지 Aix-Marseille 대학교 김혜경 선생님(courtils2003 at gmail.com)께 제출하시기 바랍니다. 기본적으로 발표자 선생님들께 숙소가 제공되나 발표를 하지 않은 참가자 선생님들께도 예산에 따라 숙소를 제공할 예정입니다. 숙소 제공 순서는 대학원생, 대학교 시간 강사, 전임 강사, 교수의 순으로 결정될 것입니다. 반드시 워크숍 참가가 확실한 경우에만 신청해 주시기를 부탁 드립니다. 합격자 발표 후 참석을 취소할 참가자 선생님들께 추후에 호텔예약비를 청구할 것이며, 2022년 워크숍 참가 신청이 제한될 것이오니 주의해 주시기 바랍니다.

2020워크숍에는 유럽 대학교 소속 우수한 대학원 학생(석사 또는 박사 과정) 1명에게 항공료를 제공할 예정입니다. 우수한 대학원생 논문은 원고 마감 제출 후 선발과정으로 거쳐 발표될 것입니다.
