Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions -- Individual Fellowships

The research team of Prof. Rebekah Clements at the Autonomous University of Barcelona invites applications from interested candidates in Chosŏn history for a Marie Curie Individual Fellowship. Marie Curie Individual Fellowships are open to researchers moving within Europe, as well as those coming in to Europe from other parts of the world, and provide two years of funding for living expenses, research travel, and family costs. The application is completed by the candidate and their proposed host institution. To be eligible, applicants must have a doctoral degree in hand by the time of the call deadline (September 11, 2019).

We seek applications for host institution support from candidates specializing in Chosŏn history, especially those whose work intersects with other members of the research team. Possible topics include, language, society, and the characteristics of East Asian "early modernity" (or research which challenges this paradigm); the history of the Imjin War and its impact in East Asia; Chosŏn demographics, environmental history, economic history, and the history of ceramics. The team's main focus is currently a five year project on the after effects of the Imjin War, and successful candidates would have the opportunity to collaborate with the project members and use the resources of the project library: http://pagines.uab.cat/aftermath http://pagines.uab.cat/aftermath/visitus .

Information on the Marie Curie Individual Fellowships is available here: https://ec.europa.eu/research/mariecurieactions/actions/individual-fellowships_en.

For more information and to discuss a possible application, please contact Rebekah Clements (rebekah.clements at icrea.cat) by 31st of May with a copy of your c.v. and one paragraph describing your proposed research topic.
