Dear All,

With Minh Chung, one of Bodley's Librarians and our Korean Librarian and
the person who found a few mysterious textiles in the Ashmolean Museum
collection, I want to thank everyone who was kind enough to send
comments and ask colleagues about these textiles. We have been quite
overwhelmed by the number of responses and humbled by the time that many
people generously spent to help us. The consensus that emerged is that
the blue textile is definitely Chinese, probably Qing Chinese, because
the threads are straight and the blue colour is rarely seen in Korean
textiles. Comments on the other two textiles with the procession and the
multiple and varied motifs have been mixed, with many good points
raised. We know that it is very difficult to comment with precision with
just a few photographs, and we are indeed very thankful for all the
points you have raised. Thank you again.

Sincerely yours,

Jay Lewis
