Korea University International Research Center for Korean Language and
Culture invites applications for a research professor for “Fostering a New
Wave of K-Academics Program” funded by the Academy of Korean Studies, from
2021.07.01.-2026.06.30. Successful applicant is expected to translate
online lecture series (Korean to English, 10 courses annually). He or she
is also expected to be in residence in Seoul, and to engage actively in
academic events of the Institution.

This appointment is for 10 month of the first year (2021.09.-2022.06.), but
expected to be extended annually till 2026.06. Compensation for the
position is a stipend of ₩3,142,000/month  including tax and social
insurance fees, in addition to severance pay.

Successful applicants should have (1) Doctoral Degree, (2) Native or
Near-Native  (Academic) English skills (3) College level background of
Korean Studies. Specialists in Korean linguistics, Korean literature,
Culture Studies, Korean language education or Classical Chinese would be
preferred. Applicants with working experience in Korean-English (academic)
translation would be highly desirable.

가. 공통사항

- 「고등교육법」 제16조에서 정한 조교수 이상 자격기준에 해당하고, 「국가공무원법」 제33조 등에서 정한 결격사유에 해당하지 않는 자

- 박사학위 소지자

- 원어민 수준의 영어 능력을 가진 자 (학술적 내용의 영어 번역이 가능한 자)

- 대학 수준의 한국학에 대한 지식을 가진 자

나. 우대사항

- 한국어문학, 한국고전, 한문학, 한국어교육 전공자

- 학술 번역 유경험자

○ 기타사항

- 지원서 및 제출서류의 기재사항이 사실과 다르거나 허위 사실임이 판명될 경우에는 지원을 무효로 처리하고, 임용 이후 판명될 경우에는
임용을 취소함
